Thought I'd be more positive about music today. Check out the links.
Am currently enjoying the musical talents of
Busta Rhymes - Have had Anarchy on repeat and the track Show Me What You Got on repeat once ...can't wait for the new album some very talented producers worked on that. And that Don't Touch Me remix is ASBO music.
Deftones - White Pony. I do listen to this all the time though.
Foals - Antidotes. Would have been far easier to flop with all the skins fans and subsequent suit pressure but they kept it foals (which is, energetic and unique). Red Sox Pugie is a like a cup of tea. Got the pleasure of meeting the producer of the video. Nice work.
Radiohead - Renewed love for In Rainbows since seeing them at Victoria Park. A classic album. Found this video of All I Need which is aptly grounding. But as Jack said in Hotel Rwanda we "say Oh, my God, that's horrible. And then they'll go on eating their dinners"
Lightspeed Champion - Loved Testicicles, they always have a special place. Have been skeptical about Champion but it's actually pretty cool stuff. Love the Star Wars tribute aswell!
Nas - Been going retro with the illmatic. Black President - awesome track, refreshing and realistic take on Obama from a prominent figure ( and i love the 2pac sample). Looking forward to the new album titled 'nigger'. Hope it's the last...Busta has already signalled the very end for hip hop music - the previous name for his 'last' album was 'before hell freezes over'. Nas certainly should not be around in the current scene for much longer and must protect his legacy so it can be used in generations to come.
I have always listened to my parents when they have told me not to judge someone by the color of their skin, I haven't stopped because the president is black and anyone who takes offence can argue with me in 4 years.
p.s as a unconscious but slight pre judger - I am pleased at face value.
Yellow Magic Orchestra - Found through a mate who kicked my door down once, some animals are more peaceful than others I guess. very very good stuff. Love War and Peace.
AND see I do like mainstream music!!!
